JROTC Captures FIRST PLACE in COLOR GUARD at REGION
 
The Cougar Battalion Female Color Guard captured FIRST PLACE in the Region against ten other local schools Saturday in Butler. The Color Guard Captain is Alexis Duckworth and consists of Savannah Moudy, Jacora Moore and Shondrea Butler. Color Guard is the most difficult and prestigious event in drill. The Male Color Guard PLACED THIRD as did the Female Unarmed Squad. All three teams earned the right to represent the Region at the JROTC State Drill Championship in Griffin on March 18th. This is the most teams Crisp has sent to State since 2013. LTC Kirk is very proud of the Team. Other Team members are: Nate Miles, Alec Harrod, Shane Chastain, J. Edwards, Ebony Reese, Lucas Holt, Destanay Johnson, BorNeisha Copeland, Erinecia Jackson, Latorria Harvey, Kariya Tukes, Shanaya Coney and Zalia Adams.
 
Congratulations JROTC Cadet Nate Miles for being selected to attend the United States Military Academy Summer Leaders Experience at West Point, NY this summer. Cadet Miles was selected from 6,000 high school juniors who applied for the limited number of positions.This is a big first step in the process for selection to attend the prestigious Army Service Academy upon graduation. West Point scholarships are among the most valuable any student can be granted. All of the Cougar Battalion is very proud of this super Cadet scholar.

Crisp County High School’s Army JROTC Cougar Battalion Cyber Patriot Team Won 3rd Place in the Worldwide All-Services Division Army Category Silver Tier Award. Crisp was the only Georgia high school, public or private, in any Division, Category or Tier to win an award in post-State competition. The 1st and 2nd Place Awards went to one private prep school, Texas Military Institute, who fielded two teams. In all, 4,404 teams worldwide registered to compete in Cyber Patriot IX, including 1,589 All-Services teams, 236 Army JROTC teams and 74 total teams from Georgia. This was our Team's first year competing. Cougar Cyber Team members are: Team Captain Cadet Major Nate Miles, and Cadet Major Alexis Duckworth, Cadet Major Savannah Moudy, Cadet Major Rosa Lamb, Cadet Captain Jaden Johnson, and Cadet Captain Latorria Harvey. Lt. Col. Kirk is extremely proud of these Cadets and asks that everyone will join him in congratulating these fine young students who represented us all so well and "put Crisp County on the world map."
 
The CCHS Army JROTC Drill Team and Color Guard competed Friday night at Fitzgerald against Worth, Fitzgerald, Turner and Irwin. Both our Male and Female Color Guards placed first, the Unarmed Female Squad placed second and in Individual Drill, Savannah Moudy placed first in Armed Drill and Alex Harrod placed second in Armed Drill. As a result, Crisp had the most first places of any team. Lt. Colonel Kirk is extremely proud of these Cadets.
 
Congratulations Nate Miles!!
Please congratulate Cadet Major Nate Miles for winning the BEST CADET Competition at Fort Valley State yesterday. Four Crisp County Cadets competed for the honor: Cadet Nate Miles, Cadet Major Alexis Duckworth, Cadet Major Savannah Moudy and Cadet Staff Sergeant Josclyn McKenzie. They competed against a number of other Cadets from the surrounding schools. The event criteria included, grades, uniform inspection, drill, a PT Test, an essay and a review board oral quiz. This was the first time Crisp had competed in this competition.
 
The CCHS Army JROTC Drill Team and Color Guard competed Friday night at Turner County against Worth, Fitzgerald, Turner and Irwin. Both our Male and Female Color Guards placed first, the Unarmed Female Squad placed third and in Individual Drill, Savannah Moudy placed first in Armed Drill and Shane Chastain placed third in Unarmed Drill. As a result, Crisp had the most first places of any team. I am extremely proud of these Cadets.

Please join me in congratulating the Cougar Battalion JROTC Cyber Security Team for placing FIRST in Georgia in our category against ALL Service Schools (Army, Navy, Air Force, Marines, Civil Air Patrol, Naval Cadets) and being the ONLY Georgia Team moving on to Worldwide Competition tomorrow. We just received our Award from the sponsor: The Air Force Association (see attached). Team members are: Nate Miles, Savannah Moudy, Jaden Johnson, Rosa Lamb, Alexis Duckworth, Latorria Harvey.
