The CCHS Concert and Symphonic Bands traveled to Cairo High School yesterday to participate in the annual Georgia Music Educators Associations Large Group Performance Evaluation where we were judged by a state approved panel of adjudicators on our three prepared selections, sight-reading (taking 6 minutes to perform a piece of music we have never seen before), and our student conductors. Each portion of the event is rated from 1 to 5 with a 1 being the highest possible rating meaning "Superior" and 2 being an "Excellent" performance. Here are the results...
CCHS Concert Band- Level 3
1,1,2- On Stage (Overall Superior Rating)
1- Sight-reading (Superior)
1- Student Conductor (Superior- Jenyla Sumler)
CCHS Symphonic Band- Level 6
1,1,1- On Stage (Superior Rating with ALL "A's" in every category from every judge!!!)
1- Sight-reading (Superior)
1- Student Conductor (Superior- Johnny Dixon)
Please congratulate both of our fine ensembles as they worked very hard and gave a performance that was indicative of their hard work!!! WE ARE SO PROUD OF ALL OF OUR STUDENTS!!!
