Good Morning Cougar Band Family!!!
On Thursday, March 16th, four of our senior band members took advantage of the opportunity to audition for Mr. Donovan Wells who is Director of Bands at Bethune-Cookman University in Daytona, FL. Mr. Wells stopped by the high school and auditioned these individuals and we are pleased to announce that they ALL were awarded scholarships to participate in the band should they choose to attend Bethune-Cookman!!! The seniors and award amounts are:
Jarek Jones (Percussion)- $9000 per year
Jh'miere Barner (Tuba)- $10,000 per year
Y'shantice Collins (Baritone)- $11,000 per year
Johnny Dixon (Trumpet)- $17,000 per year
We are extremely proud of these individuals and want to highlight this moment as a chance to show our students that playing your instrument and playing it well can lead to huge rewards even after high school!!!
