Mar'Laisia Wilson was awarded the Bill Gates Scholarship on April 21, 2023. The Gates Scholarship is a highly selective, last-dollar scholarship for outstanding, minority, high school seniors from low-income households. Each year, the scholarship is awarded to exceptional student leaders, with the intent of helping them realize their maximum potential. Mar'Laisia also received a full ROTC scholarship to The Fort Valley State University. Mar'Laisia is currently a Senior at Crisp County High School. While in high school, Mar'Laisia served as the Battalion Commander for the Cougar Battalion and played basketball. She was a member of the Beta Club, HOSA club, Chick- Fil-A Leader Academy, and 4-H.
