This month, several members of the Crisp County High School Band Program traveled to Thomas County Central High School in Thomasville, GA, and auditioned for membership into the 2026 GMEA (Georgia Music Educators Association) District 2 Jazz Band.
We are pleased to announce that four of our musicians earned chairs in the jazz band. These students competed against students from several counties in our District.
The students selected include:
Kylan Edwards- Alto Saxophone; 11th grade (1st chair)
Colton Varnadoe- Trumpet; 12th grade (3rd chair)
Elijah Cornwell- Trumpet; 11th grade (5th chair)
Jayden Ray- Drumset; 12th grade (only one is selected)
The students selected will participate in the District 2 Jazz Band Clinic held at ABAC in Tifton on February 5th-6th, 2026. Congratulations!
