Crisp County High School Ag Program Receives Welding Grant
The Crisp County High FFA and Agriculture Department recently received a grant from
Cordele Airgas for the purchase of welding technology equipment. Mr. Tony Lewis, Cordele
Airgas Representative and Store Manager approached Mr. Dixon about the opportunity and
worked closely along with him and Ms. Tara Shurley, Crisp County School District CTAE
Director to fill out the grant application and required data to make this grant process as huge
success!
The welding component of the ag program continues to be a popular option for CCHS
students that desire to work in the welding industry as an occupation. Harris Press, continues to
reinforce the program in many ways such as supplying technical advice, speaking each year to
the students about work ethics and a host of topics they need to be aware of before entering the
workforce. Mrs. Tiffany Fowler, Mr. Mark Murphy and Mr. Jerry Lott of Harris Press serve as
mentors, speakers, and Ag Advisory Committee members for the CCHS’s ever growing ag
program.
